Renowned Melbourne-born gin-maker Four Pillars set up its first Sydney outpost in the heart of Surry Hills earlier this year, featuring a laboratory, functioning distillery and cocktail bar. Now, it's shaking – not stirring – up your weekends with a new take on Sunday afternoon drinks.
Across the month of November, the Four Pillars team will be running cocktail and gin masterclasses, tailored to the brand's latest drop, the long-awaited, annually released Australian Christmas Gin. For an education on all things gin, sit down with Four Pillars co-founder Stu Gregor for an hour while you nibble on bar snacks and taste all manner of their boozy offerings, and discover more about the concepts behind the distilling and the seasonal releases.
And how better to honour the smooth, textural flavours of its newest creation than to learn how to mix it up in one of the most foundational gin-based cocktails? On alternate weeks, cocktail maestro James Irvine, Four Pillars' 'creative director of gin drinks' (name a better job title) will also be hosting Sunday masterclasses, but these ones will focus on seasonally tailored, delicious Christmas Gin cocktails.
Gin masterclasses are $85 per person, while cocktail masterclasses are $115 per person ($25 from each is redeemable on a purchase from the Four Pillars store).
