It's not for nothing that In Situ is routinely described as “funky”. A soft orange glow fills the cocktail lounge and the restful orange-brown-red theme continues through beaded curtains, lampshades and elsewhere. Mosey on down to In Situ any night of the week and you're pretty much assured a local artist (usually reggae/hip-hop/funk) and $12 cocktails at Happy Hour (4-7pm). The cocktail list features the likes of an Apple Crumble Martini – all sweetness, cinnamon and, weirdly, a cream float. We like it. Another excellent drink from the signature list (assembled at a frighteningly well-stocked bar) is the refreshing Pears Cooler, with smashed kiwi and vodka. There's about a dozen premium and imported beers and ciders to pick from, and quite a few wines in the mix, too, but this is a cocktail-centric operation, and a bloody good one. The restaurant opens at 6pm. If it's finger food you're after, the field mushroom and goat's cheese bruschetta is the perfect foil for a Furia malbec. In Situ hits all the right notes - do yourself a favour and get involved.
