It’s no secret Luna Park Sydney is perched on a prime spot of real estate heaven, with uninterrupted views across the harbour that even the most hardened Sydneysider can appreciate. And now, in news that is sure to excite many, you don’t even have to jump on the famous ferris wheel to enjoy them.

Amphora Wine Bar, situated right in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, will have its grand opening on November 5. Inspired by elements of ancient Greek design, the bar radiates a relaxed, easy-going vibe – making it the ideal setting to kick back and enjoy a vino or two.

Speaking of, the impeccably curated wine list packs an impressive punch. Amphora is a Three Wine Glass winner from the Australian Wine List of the Year Awards, and boasts a diverse collection comprising both local and international drops. Best of all, it is being frequently updated to reflect the trends and ever-changing complexity of the wine world.

On the food front, expect the seasonal menu to have a strong Mediterranean influence. Share plates of salt and pepper calamari, marinated olives and grilled halloumi make for tasty starter options, and if you’re in the mood for something more substantial you can gorge on baked cauliflower, slow cooked lamb ragu with homemade pappardelle or merguez sausages served with butter beans and crispy pancetta.

Easily accessible by ferry, train and bus, and just minutes from the CBD (making it a great spot for a cheeky after-work drink), we’ve got a hunch Amphora will be one of the hottest venues of the summer.
