Meet 'em in the middle at this Cubano gin palace in Darlinghurst
Middlebar is the new Lo-Fi. Same great Taylor Square location, perched above Kinselas with Johnny Wong's Dumpling Bar on the way up. But now the indie party bar has been given a Cuban makeover. Head to this convenient spot to watch the Gilligan’s Island shenanigans of Oxford Street – teen drunks, glamorous drag queens, etc. – from afar during midweek catch-ups and weekend benders. Your cocktail may be influenced by the famed drinking dens of Havana, but gin is the focus here, not rum, and your bar snacks will be care of Johnny Wong's - Sydney sure loves a melting pot. Middlebar officially swings open the doors on Fri Jul 24.
2/383 Bourke St

The security are really quite awful.
My friend and I had just left to go and buy cigarettes next door, and tried to get in 2 minutes later. They were arguing that we were never inside, and we were too intoxicated. It was 8pm and we had 2 drinks inside....
Aside from the atmosphere is pretty awful, toilets are disgusting and overall vibe is quite questionable.
Do yourself a favour and go to one of the many other bars on Oxford street
I wasn't allowed-in last Friday (12.05.17) night because I was drunk but I don't drink (?).
Also my friends left the place because it was really boring. Find another place.
Actually this place is great.. unlike the racist comment before mine. Typical idiot thinking online shaming is "the way to go"
