[CLOSED] It’s all mescal and tequila all the time at this fancy Mexican Bondi bar. Behind the elegant, Art Deco-style marble-topped bar the bartenders mix and shake in crisp white shirts and bow ties. The list is whopping (we lose count after the fifth page) but they’ll do a cracker Margarita any way you like it. Make a booking or chance getting a walk-in spot at the bar. Here you’ll have full view of possibly the largest selection of mescals in Australia. Ease into the night with an El Original del Diablo – mescal, lime, agave, house-made ginger beer and Amaro Montenegro – or stick to the Pacifico beers. The food menu is all about Mexican classics with a twist, like the tortilla ahogada – a braised pork sandwich drowned in arbol chilli sauce served with a plastic glove to catch the drips. Fun.
