Time Out says

Comedy superstars are heading to town for the 10th Sydney edition of this international comedy festival

After a two-year hiatus, Just for Laughs is set to park the chuckle wagon in Sydney again this summer with comedy shows packing out theatres all over the city and the All-Star Gala at its home, the Sydney Opera House.

English comedian and broadcaster Alan Carr is returning to the land down under for the first time since 2016 with brand-new stand-up show Regional Trinket. But he’s not the only big British television personality paying us a visit – all-round good egg Sandi Toksvig (QI, The Great British Bake Off) will perform on Australian stages for the first time. There’s also cheeky chappy Rob Beckett, the internationally renowned Nish Kumar, Bollywood star turned global comedy sensation Vir Das, and hilarious healthcare worker advocate Nurse Blake. And that’s just for starters, more comedians are yet to be revealed.

Just for Laughs is in town from November 28 to December 4 and the All-Star Gala held on Saturday, December 3, will feature a stellar lineup to celebrate the Festival’s milestone 10th Anniversary. With the Gala selling out each year, it has been the Festival’s Crown Jewel and in the past has been hosted by John Cleese, Eddie Izzard, Dave Hughes, Drew Carey and Judith Lucy amongst others and the lineup has included Bill Burr, Martin Short, Celia Pacquola, Wil Anderson, Denise Scott, Noel Fielding, Margaret Cho, Reggie Watts, Danny Bhoy, Cal Wilson and many others.
