Time Out says

[Sponsored] Your heart will soar and stumble in this relatable performance expressing obsessive emotion

Even in its healthiest form, love is a kind of obsession. We become fixated on another, build our happiness around theirs and worry for them as if they’re a component of ourselves. It’s this agonising side to connection which OCD Love explores.

The captivating dance piece follows the relationship of two lovers locked in a fierce battle of emotions, as they struggle to come to terms with the compulsive feelings they have for one another. This is the first of two companion pieces in Love Cycle, performed by Israeli contemporary dance company L-E-V Dance Company.

This minimalist performance and its complementary sequel, Love Chapter 2, are both based on the insightful and deeply personal work of slam poet Neil Hilborn. Through exceptionally moving choreography by creators Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, OCD Love will make these themes and feelings relevant to a captive audience.

Eyal's choreography is a culmination of her years of experience as a performer and artist, where she danced with the world-famous Batsheva Dance Company from 1990 to 2008. Eyal rose through the ranks at the dance company, working as associate artistic director of between 2003-2004, then as house choreographer between 2005-2012.

Love Cycle has been touring around the world and arrives in Sydney after performances in New York's Joyce's Theatre.
