Time Out says

An outdoor cinema is popping up on the QVB’s historic rooftop for Christmas

When the city is draped in twinkly lights and outdoor festivities, Christmas isn’t far behind. Riding in on that festive summer activity sleigh is Cine-mas, a new pop-up cinema on the QVB rooftop.

The film line-up is sticking to a classic Christmas colour scheme. Enjoy the surreal animation style of The Polar Express, quote the script of long-standing family favourite Home Alone, or have a jolly giggle with the always charming Elf while the stars shine overhead and Christmas lights brighten the city streets. The cheerful screenings will only have a brief run from December 5-7, with a family-friendly showing at 6.30pm and an adults-only experience from 9pm.

As you’d expect from a festive outdoor cinema experience, you’ll be able to load up on popcorn and sugar-filled snacks, while also enjoying holiday beverages from the open-air rooftop bar. This secluded space on the QVB’s rooftop is normally not accessible to the public, so it’s a great opportunity to have a geez at the splendid structure from a new angle.
