Darn it: we've got a crush on this idea. Stanley's in Darlo are hosting a free screening of Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs. The film is set in Japan of course, so there will be free sushi. The film features dogs, of course, so you can bring your pupper. And there will be themed cocktails for sale on the night, such as the Bloodhound – a Bloody Mary with a Japanese twist ($20) – and if you buy one you'll get a free collectible figurine that will make you the envy of your office and mark you out as "the quirky one".
We can't imagine a better venue for this – the bar, if you know it, is themed around Anderson movies including The Royal Tenenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Isle of Dogs is released on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital on the same day. So get your group of scary indestructible alpha dogs together and get ready to geek out.
