Cautious filmmakers avoid working with children or animals – but not the entrants in Sydney’s Good Dog! International Film Festival.
The annual festival of films featuring dogs returns to Joynton Park in December with animated and live action dog films from the US, Australia, Canada, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, Estonia, Spain, Ireland, Peru, Portugal and Sweden. The films will battle it out for the title of Best in Show.
This year the festival has teamed up with Green Square Markets’ Paws Day Out to offer day and night markets alongside the film festival screenings.
Tickets are on sale now to the two nights of screenings. The proceeds of ticket sales this year will benefit the dog charity Young Diggers, which trains former pound dogs as service dogs for veterans with PTSD.
And yes, you can bring your pooch along – so long as they're well behaved.
