Time Out says

This day spa in a heritage Blue Mountains location will indulge you in all-natural, locally sourced products

Secluded in the picturesque surrounds of the Blue Mountains and situated in a heritage home, the award-winning Spa Sublime is one of the area’s most established day spas. With the capacity to treat up to eight people at once, the spa specialises in couples treatments in its beautifully appointed twin treatment rooms, as well as group bookings.

Time Out was treated to the Escape package ($195 pp, 75 minutes). Incorporating a full body exfoliation, mud wrap, scalp treatment and all-over moisturisation, this package will leave you feeling like a newborn baby (we imagine) and deliciously smooth for days to come. The massage beds are gently heated. Along with the meditative ambient music and the aromas of the house products, it creates a soothing atmosphere perfect for a mountain winter.

At the beginning of our appointment, we're asked to close our eyes and choose from three essential oil blends – Spirit, Thrive, and Dream. These are the signature scents of Spa Sublime’s own specially-formulated spa product range, Akorah, which takes inspiration from the surrounding Blue Mountains National Park and uses all-natural native ingredients. The soothing lavender, camomile and cinnamon combination of the Dream fragrance, as well as Thrive’s invigorating blend of ylang ylang, rosewood and lemongrass pique our senses. Enriched with plant extracts such as kakadu plum, lilli pilli and quandong, the products leave our bodies feeling supple without that overwhelming punch you find with many scented products. We can’t help but stock up on body custard and essential oils at reception when we leave.

During the Escape package encounter, Spa Sublime’s therapists gently massage you (quite literally) from head to toe during each treatment (or ‘ritual’), checking in with you intermittently and making sure that you’re comfortable before massaging more intimate areas such as the chest and stomach. Prior to your appointment, we’d recommend detangling your hair and arriving clean and without makeup – you're invited to take a shower after the mud wrap, and you don't want to be worrying about panda eyes from mascara in the midst of all the indulgence.

Experiencing Spa Sublime's professional yet homely spa services in a heritage home setting surrounded by bush (you can see out towards the Sublime Point Lookout from the salon’s front door) makes it all the better. The natural beauty surrounding you ensures that your self-care day feels very Blue Mountains.

In addition to indulgent spa packages, Spa Sublime also offers individual services such as facials, massages, waxing and other beauty treatments.
