Play periodic table scrabble, escape a virtual reality panic room and speed-meet a geek

Sydney Science Festival launches with an adults-only night at the museum featuring booze, performances and hands-on science ‘encounters’ with local experts. Hosted by Dr Lisa Harvey Smith, there’ll be a special guest talk from astrophysicist Dr Alan Duffy, a chance to meet animals from Taronga Zoomobile, speed-meet a geek, and the opportunity to drive a Mars rover. If that’s not enough, the whole event is free (booking is required) and you get to tour the new exhibition, Collider
