The year is 1836. Choose your own adventure by working your way through the convict system to earn your prized ‘ticket of leave’. In the process you’ll come face to face with notorious and colourful characters: take orders from the nasty superintendent, meet the lovesick cook, and avoid being punished by the shifty scourger.
With stories to hear, a court trial to attend and many fun jobs to do, you’ll have to keep your wits about you to earn your freedom in time. Surprises await you throughout the buildings and courtyard – be prepared for a fantastically fun convict caper.
Convict Escapades is at Hyde Park Barracks Museum from Thursday April 26 to Sunday April 29, with two sessions each day at 10-11.30am and 1-2.30pm.
