Sydney Opera House is hosting a special performance to mark the 50th anniversary of Australia’s 1967 Indigenous rights referendum in which 90.77 per cent of Australian’s voted ‘Yes’. The 1967 Music in the Key of Yes concert is a celebration of change in Australia, which will feature footage from the era and a soundtrack from seven key Indigenous artists. The line-up includes ARIA award-winning Dan Sultan, Triple J favourite Thelma Plum, Melbourne rocker Adalita, Darwin singer-songwriter Leah Flanagan, North-East Arnhem Land’s Yirrmal, hip-hop artist Radical Son and multi-talented musician Stephen Pigram (the Pigram Brothers).
