Time Out says

This mini-festival brings alt-country, bluegrass and folk gigs to Newtown and surrounds for Sydney Solstice

Dust off your cowboy boots and get a leg up on your boot scooting. This two-day festival is taking over the bars, parks and pubs of Newtown and Enmore with free and ticketed gigs over the June long weekend. Let go of your preconceived notions about what a country show looks like and ride your horse to the old town road (and by that we mean King Street) for this showcase of Inner Western flavour and refreshing musicians.

Catch the likes of Aussie country darling Kasey Chambers, the Neil Young-esque pipes of the Andy Golledge Band, all-girl folk gang All Our Exes Live in Texas, soulful Indigenous singer-songwriter Emma Donovan and her band the Putbacks, alt-bluegrass outfit the Morrisons, the personal Americana country soul stylings of Caitlin Harnett and the Pony Boys, Tex Perkins playing Johnny Cash, and more.

Presented by the founders of King Street Crawl, the Music and Booze Co, this festival-within-a-festival hitches its wagon to the city-wide Sydney Solstice program. It brings ticketed shows to the grassy, open-air surrounds of Sydney Park Amphitheatre and free gigs to places like the familiar sticky carpet of The Duke or cosy interiors of The Midnight Special. Keep an eye out also for pop-ups in unexpected places like Enmore Road’s western style fashion store Route 66, Cottonmouth Records and Secret Garden Bar.

Single day tickets start at $65.80, or $116.80 for a weekender pass (family passes also available), and gain you entry to the stacked Amphitheatre line-ups on Saturday June 12 and Sunday June 13. Find out more and grab your tickets at Oztix. Yee haw!
