Hallelujah! The Sydney Philharmonia Choirs perform Handel’s crowd favourite oratorio

Sydney Philharmonia Choirs are bringing their bi-annual production of Handel’s Messiah to the Opera House’s Concert Hall in time for the festive season. The oratorio features the ‘Hallelujah’ chorus – one of just a handful of classical melodies even non-classical fans can hum on command –  and will be performed by the company’s Symphony Chorus, Vox Choirs and Christmas Choir, featuring Australian soloists such as Miriam Allan, Helen Sherman, Andrew Goodwin and David Greco. The ensemble will be accompanied by the Sydney Philharmonia Orchestra led by Fiona Ziegler. In a Messiah-first, an Australian woman will be conducting the piece at the Opera House as Elizabeth Scott guides the choir.
