Time Out says

Hear arias from beloved classic films while you elegantly scoff sones and sparkling wine

While we can’t all necessarily relate to a six-hour opera sung completely in Italian, everyone can enjoy pieces of musical mastery from their favourite films. That’s what Opera Bites – a company specialising in costumed miniature operas making the style more accessible – is doing at their next dinner and music mash-up.

The team will perform operatic hits like ‘Brindisi’ from Pretty Woman (when Vivian tearily watches the aria on stage), ‘Nessun Dorma’, which you see from the backstage in Mission Impossible, and ‘O mio babbino caro’, which is the poppy-field running soundtrack in A Room with a View.

While these tracks are belted out by bellissimo performers in the 90-minute show in the heritage Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, you’ll get to enjoy a tower of delicate cucumbers sandwiches and other sweet and savoury snacks with a glass of bubbles.
