Time Out says

Kamilaroi man and Tongan singer-songwriter Radical Son will perform an intimate show in the Utzon Room

Soul singer, rapper and spoken word artist Radical Son is bringing his effortless vocals to the Utzon Room at Sydney Opera House as part of a series of First Nations music events. The series, curated by Rhoda Roberts AO, brings contemporary artists into the intimate space to celebrate the vibrancy and rich culture of Australia’s First Nations.

Roberts says, “I’m loving the shift in these new songmen and songwomen who still walk in ancient footprints and continue to unleash ideas, tell of personal triumphs and the obstacles they have faced. Welcome to the 21st century of songlines.”

Accompanied by pianist Callum Macdonald, Radical Son will deliver lyrics that chart a course from hopelessness to healing, guided by his heritage from Australia’s Kamilaroi nation and Tonga.

Other performances in the series include Filipino and Indigenous hip hop artist Dobby and rapper Tasman Keith, and indie-rock singer-songwriter Tia Gostelow in January.
