For almost three decades, forgotten Detroit singer-songwriter Sixto Rodriguez appeared to have vanished. He was brought back into the spotlight thanks to Malik Bendjelloul’s 2012 Oscar-winning documentary Searching for Sugar Man. The Mexican-American folk-artist first toured Australia in the 1970s where he was received by an audience of 15,000. His debut album Cold Fact (1969) has since then been certified five-times platinum in Australia and features popular songs ‘Sugar Man’ and ‘I Wonder’, which we can expect him to perform when he tours Sydney in 2019. He’ll be supported by Aussie indie-rock artist Sarah Blasko.
