Time Out says

The enigmatic singer-songwriter will play a special acoustic show at City Recital Hall as part of Great Southern Nights

Live music is back, and not a moment too soon. So is Sarah Blasko, the Sydney singer-songwriter whose beguiling, allusive career has included six solo albums, one album in supergroup Seeker Lover Keeper, collaborations with Gurrumul and David Byrne, a Triple J album of the Year (As Day Follows Night), and three ARIA awards.

Blasko will play a stripped-back and intimate gig in the acoustically brilliant City Recital Hall on November 21. Part of Great Southern Nights, a series of 1,000 Covid-safe gigs across NSW in November, the concert will be the culmination of a series of shows in which Blasko writes, records and performs brand new works that will form the basis for her next album.

Part concert, part conversation, the event has Blasko sitting down at the Steinway piano and inviting audiences into her creative process as she performs brand new compositions as well as her own greatest hits such as ‘All I Want’, ‘We Won’t Run’ and ‘Don’t U Eva’. Sultry Sydney performer Lisa Caruso will be supporting.

Tickets are on sale now. City Recital Hall is also hosting a performance by Tim Freedman for Great Southern Nights. Thank heavens live music is finally returning to City Recital Hall, which will be running at a reduced capacity of 600 (the venue normally holds 1,238).
