Time Out says

Prepare to walk through a field with your fist held high, because these Scottish rockers are playing in Sydney in 2020

Even if you’ve never seen beloved 1985 film The Breakfast Club, you’ll know the movie’s final scene: a trenchcoat-clad youth walks across a football pitch, raising his clenched fist to the sky as Simple Minds’ ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ proudly rings through to the credits. The song was recorded especially for this moment, and it blasted the Scottish group onto the international music stage.

At the 2020 Sydney performance, they’ll be playing this monumental rock track alongside bangers from the 18 studio albums they produced in their four-decade career. Their tour is aptly titled the ‘40 Years of Hits Tour’, and we’re excited to sing along to the synthy drama of ‘Alive and Kicking’, the gently moving ‘Belfast Child’ and the get-up-and-dance track 'Sanctify Yourself'.

It’ll be a night of massive crescendos, hand clapping and big feels at the International Convention Centre on December 3, 2020. The original rockers, vocalist Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill, will be leading the proceedings, along with new band members they’ve accrued over the years.

Pre-sale tickets will be available from November 12, and the rest go on sale on the 18th at 10am.
