Across two Friday night sessions, you can hear flautist and composer Keyna Wilkins fuse jazz with flamenco as she jumps from self-composed pieces to improvised melodies. She’ll be joined by Tángalo Duo who juggle the flute, piano, vocals and the bandoneon (a type of concertina) to create the joyous tango street music of their Argentinian heritage. They'll be bringing these diverse performances to Bustle Studios, an adaptable space in Surry Hills that's opening its doors to a new musical crowd. They're now hosting intimate gigs through Airbnb, which is now doubling as a booking platform for accommodation and venues for public experiences.
The set will run for three hours, and with a pop-up bar on site providing refreshments and pizza for purchase, you’ll be able to get comfortable in this home-style vintage studio. There’s only 50 tickets up for grabs at $30 each, so get in while they last.
