Fancy yourself as Sarah Koenig from Serial? Or do you want to follow the steps of Hedley Thomas from The Teachers Pet, or Alexei Toliopoulos and Cameron James from Finding Drago? No matter how ambitious your podcasting dreams are, there's now a practical way to record your audio thanks to Sydney community radio station 2ser.

2ser has expanded its output beyond daily radio broadcasting to podcasts and online multi-media production – and they’ve built a new production studio that’s available to hire by any budding podcasters. The new studio in Broadway will service the station’s flagship shows, but they’re opening up the new equipment and conversation-centric (clutter-free) space to all.

The studio is completely digital, using a graphics interface rather than a physical mixing console, to free up space for hosts and guests. They’re using Axia iQx’s digital engine for digital audio and surface control, and have five Audio-Technica BP40 broadcast microphones.

Hire rates start at $250 per hour, and $300 per hour for hire with a technician or producer. As the radio station is part of UTS, they’re committed to helping budding journos and podcasters get their start in media. To book or enquire about the space, email Kat Alchin at kat@2ser.com, or visit 2ser’s website for more information.
