You can score free gelato this weekend, delivered by speedboat

Ice cream delivered to your beach towel via speedboat is a wonderfully appropriate summer Sydney stunt, and this sweet frozen dream could come true for you this weekend.

Deliveroo will be loading up two special flavours of Messina gelato and taking a nautical tour of nine Sydney beaches to offer free frozen treats to swimmers and sunbakers this Saturday and Sunday from 11.30am-5pm. All you need to do is wade out to the boat to collect your strawberry pavlova choc top or peach bellini bars before they sail away.

The motley crew will head out on Saturday to beaches at Double Bay, Rose Bay, Nielsen Park, Watsons Bay and Milk Beach (in that order). On Sunday, grab your telescope and spy them at Manly Wharf, followed by Clontarf Beach, Spit Marina and finally Balmoral Beach. They'll hang around each salty destination for around 30 minutes, so landlubbers will have time to casually breaststroke out to the boat.

For the lactose intolerant among us, maybe stick to an icy pole at Sydney’s best beaches.
