A free monthly cabaret night is coming to Cake Wines Cellar Door
If, when you go, you plan on going like Elsie, there's a brand new night of live performance, just for you. Club Cabaret will take place at 5pm, one Sunday of every month at Cake Wine Cellar Door.
The event, curated and hosted by cabaret artist Danielle Asciak, is "a space for emerging and independent artists to trial out their work as an intermediary platform to full seasons, touring and festivals." Asciak runs courses at Work-Shop, and it was through these she realised "artists crave a space reminiscent to the cabaret spaces of lost times, to share their work, drink and connect with people."
The night will feature a diverse group of performers, from burlesque artists to singers to comedians and music theater artists.
The second event, on May 7, will be headlined by
Grant Galea who plays Bobby Darin in the split-level interactive theatre experience Hidden Sydney. There's also plenty more performances from Asciak, Odette MacKenzie, Madison Hegarty, Jeremy Moineau, Luke Ryan and Danny Condon.
Club Cabaret is free, but you can reserve a table through the Cake Wines website.
