A fancy dinner is always an occasion, but that goes double for this one-night Carriageworks takeover
A Moveable Feast, a series of large-scale, experiential dining events held to mark each season, have something special planned for winter.
Winter Wonder on Saturday July 30 will see them commandeer Bays 22-24 at Carriageworks to turn them into an elaborate winter playground – the setting for a six-course feast from chef Jared Ingersoll (Danks Street Depot, Hunter + Barrell).
Drinks will be served on arrival, tables will be fully set and styled and there will be curated art and live performances. Art installation ‘The Spiral’ will be set up for your viewing pleasure and DJ Dan Rowntree will be providing the beats.
Ingersoll’s menu includes a ‘bullshot’ of aromatic beef broth with Oloroso Sherry fortified with vodka; Mountain charcuterie and cheese with pickled garden vegetables; beetroot-cured New Zealand king salmon Niçoise salad; Blackmore beef brisket “à la mode” stew, gremolata and truffle mash; rum baba, crème pâtissière and wild strawberries; and macaroons.
Veggo or gluten intolerant? No dramas, Ingersoll has devised fully vegetarian and gluten-free versions of the same menu items.
Winter Wonder promises to take guests on a journey through the best in fashion, food and culture. Tickets are $195pp and available in pairs only.
