Black Bar & Grill gets an enchanting menu makeover this spring

Black Bar & Grill are showcasing a series of spellbinding menus and specials throughout spring when the Black Magic Spectacular takes over The Star's premium restaurant.
Devised by executive chef Dany Karam the Black Magic menu will showcase spring produce every open day until Nov 12. Each dish will also be centred around black ingredients, like squid ink, poppy seeds, black garlic and pepper.
Start with salmon sashimi with lemon, black radish, shallot dressing and a squid ink cracker; or pan-fried scallops with poppy seeds, snap peas and a buttermilk dressing. The main event is a Black market marble score fillet steak with smoked potatoes, asparagus, charred onions and black pepper sauce. Finish on a sweet note with macadamia praline parfait with chocolate mousse and caramelised banana.
The bar will also be shaking up special cocktails and dishing out special snacks. Knock back oysters with cucumber, crème fraîche and caviar; chargrilled lobster tail with wakame butter; and crab croquettes with tarragon and black garlic mayonnaise. Cocktails include a Dark Martini with Cubaney rum, Mister Black liqueur, Mozart dark chocolate liqueur and espresso; a French Blazer with Hennessey VSOP and flaming orange; or a Magic Gosling with Grand Marnier and rinsed with La Gatinoise.
To add an extra touch of magic there will also be magicians roving throughout the dining room and bar every Thursday to Sunday evening.
