With the merging of two major hospitality groups Cafe Nice down on Phillip Street is now Cafe Ananas, and the former Ananas site is now El Camino Cantina, a Mexican party bar and restaurant with a penchant for frozen Margaritas.
And before you get worried, the lavish glass pineapple lightshades have made it across in the move. You can also expect the classic French menu to still be serving up lemon sole meuniere, moules frites, onion soup, escargot, parfait and confit duck. Perhaps you’ll chase your entrée with the hangar steak frites – a grass-fed cut smothered in café de Paris butter.
