Time Out says

Looking for something to do on the Labour Day public holiday? How about a three-hour Greek lunch at Gazebo?

Your Monday public holiday is officially sorted: Gazebo in Elizabeth Bay is holding a three-hour Greek Community Feast of food, free-flowing wine and entertainment in the famous wine garden.

Executive chef George Diamond will be sharing traditional recipes from his childhood served with wines from Greece and the Balkans.

Here’s the menu, and we’re a little bit excited just thinking about it…

Orektita
The appetisers will include olives, dips and grilled pita bread along with Domaine Karanika 2015 Cuvee Speciale and Kir Yianni 2015  ‘Paranga’ White, from Macedonia.

Mezethes
The small plates will feature grilled haloumi, stuffed vegetables, slow-cooked baby calamari, grilled octopus, meatballs and spanakopita. Wines: GAIA 2015  ‘Thalassitis’ Santorini PDO, Pelopennese; Domaine 2015  Zafeirakis Rosé, Thesselay.

Skara
From the coal pit, expect marinated lamb kebabs and Cypriot sausages. Sides will be Greek salad and lemon-roasted potatoes and capers.

Glyka
For dessert it’s honey donuts, star anise, cinnamon, roast walnuts and Greek yoghurt ice cream.

Book your table for a 1pm start; the price is just $89 per head.
