Time Out says

[CLOSED] Is this the biggest Sydney restaurant event of the century?

[CLOSED] It has been voted San Pellegrino’s Best Restauraunt in the World no less than four times since 2010, and it landed on Sydney shores on Tue Jan 26 2016. Noma Australia is open for lunch and dinner, Tue-Sat, until Sat Apr 2 at Barangaroo on Sydney Harbour.

Supported by Tourism Australia, Noma patron-chef René Redzepi has brought over his entire team from the Copenhagen restaurant, which is shut during the Sydney residency. The menu doesn't offer the Nordic cuisine Redzepi helped define in Denmark. As a massive fan of Australian produce, Redzepi has been spotted sampling some of our most unusual offerings around the country (green lip abalone, anyone?) and the menu is designed around indigenous ingredients from Aussie land and sea. Even the matching beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are all-Australian, and we hear the juice pairing is spectacular.

But sorry folks, tables to eat at Noma Australia sold out in around 90 seconds, so if you're not already booked in, your chances of nabbing a seat are slim. Or you could join the reported 20,000 people on the waiting list? Yep, it's fair to say that not only is this likely the most expensive dinner in Australia ($485 per head before drinks); it's also one of the greatest restaurant events to ever occur in this country. And whether you're in or out, Noma Australia is already living up to the hype.
