Time Out says

Oma’s Kitchen plays the Austro-German kitsch to the hilt, with a lively accordion music soundtrack, one wall covered in a photographic mural of an Alpine view, and a display cabinet fall of strudels and black forest cake. But to run a convincing German diner you need a good German butcher, and Oma’s has one: Mentges Master Meats in Taree, a German butcher with 700 years’ combined family experience. Big, white weisswurst pork sausages are terrific slathered in yellow mustard and served on a crunchy roll with sauerkraut for just $6. There’s tasty goulash with bread dumplings, massive weiner schnitzels and pork steaks, not to mention a menu of German beers (make ours a dark, wheaty Aktien Landbier please). A goulash pie ($8) comes out golden with a potato salad enlivened by crunchy pickle bits in the German style. The staff of Teutonic grannies runs around making everyone feel welcome, and beer-and-a-pretzel deals ($11) mean you can treat Oma’s like your very own beer hall-by-the-sea. Prost to that.
