The salt and pepper eggplant here wins the prize for best vegetarian dish this year. The batter is crisp, light and perfectly seasoned with just a hint of Sichuan pepper and encases pieces of tender, steamed eggplant cut in Jenga shaped fingers. There’s also a bunch of tasty barbecue but we go back to the tiny restaurant for the veg.
