Time Out says

Head here for a pre-show menu that delights

Tucked away off Macquarie Street just a short walk from the Sydney Opera House is the Dining Room, Sir Stamford’s premier dining venue that boasts views across the Royal Botanic Gardens.

If you can tear yourself away from the view, settle into Sir Stamford’s elegantly decorated dining room, where service is matched with a diverse food menu.

Decked out with high backed chairs and hand cut chandeliers, it's where guests can enjoy an à la carte menu that’s been prepared using locally sourced fresh ingredients. Take your pick from melt-in-your-mouth ricotta gnocchi, roasted Tasmanian salmon fillet or epigram of lamb for your main, then top it off with a sweet chocolate fondant or a cheese platter featuring a selection of Australian and imported cheeses.

Heading to a show? The Dining Room offers a two-course pre-opera menu that makes an ideal precursor to a theatre experience at the Sydney Opera House. And until August 12 you can enjoy Sir Stamford's Christmas Winterfest, with a traditional three-course meal of potato and leek soup, stuffed turkey breast and steamed Christmas pudding for $65 per person every Tuesday to Saturday.
