Sydney celebrates the coming of winter with bright lights, live music and big ideas. Vivid takes over the city from May 25 until June 16, and at the centre of the illuminated action is Zushi Barangaroo. This izakaya bar and restaurant offers traditional Japanese dishes like sashimi, gyoza, miso salmon and rolled sushi, alongside an extensive list of sake, whisky, wine and imported beer.
For Vivid this year, they’re inviting hungry visitors and locals to enjoy stunning views of the lights around harbour while they try new cocktails inspired by the festival. For a colourful infusion of blue curaçao, try the Astro Boy, or opt for a midori-spiked Martini, followed by a punch of war plum wine in the Hello Kitty cocktail. While you test these new creations, get a taste of Zushi’s freshest seafood on the sashimi boat, which is an assortment of the chef's favourite sashimi dishes.
There’s never a dull moment during Vivid. While you dine there’ll be light shows to marvel at and you can meet the six-metre-tall glowing puppet who performs (with the help of puppeteers) in the area every night.
