Wild Cockatoo is a member of that élite class of sold-out-daily artisan bakeries. It’s such a small operation that you’ll likely be served by Ray, the baker, himself. He rises pre-dawn each day to craft buttery croissants, chewy rosemary potato loaves and flatbreads pressed with tomatoes and olives. Check the chalkboard for the day’s bounty of tarts, rolls and pies in varieties including lamb coconut curry, sweet potato and spicy chicken with beans. If there’s still a raspberry and ricotta tart left on the counter, don’t think twice.
