Looking for a Sunday brunch with a difference? House of Crabs, the southern American-style seafood restaurant above the Norfolk in Cleveland Street, has announced the return of their Yum Cha Brunch series, launching on Sunday June 12.
It’s a fusion so crazy it actually works a treat. Think steamed bao cheeseburgers; char siu octopus tacos; and malted mantou with salted caramel ice cream.
The venue’s signature fare will also be available, namely their southern-style boils: bags of South Australian mussels, whole Queensland prawns or Alaskan king crab, smothered in creole butter or spicy Singapore sauce.
You’re going to want a little hair of the dog with your brunch feast. May we suggest a Long Breakfast Martini (gin, apricot brandy, marmalade, lemon and mint) or a Wasabi Mary (as the name suggests, a Bloody Mary with soy sauce and wasabi)?
Yum Cha Brunch series kicks off over the Queen’s Birthday Weekend and will recur up until October on dates to be announced soon. Last year the series was a sellout, so be fast to book your seats by emailing getmessy@houseofcrabs.com.au or by phoning House of Crabs directly on 02 9699 3177.
