Time Out says

One of Sydney's popular Japanese restaurants has settled in at Barangaroo

This Japanese joint sits right on the water along Wulugul Walk, so if you're after some alfresco sashimi, the open-air dining at Zushi is the ideal spot. The Barangaroo venue is the newest incarnation of this izakaya, which has long kept the salarymen and women of  Darlinghurst and Surry Hills in maki and nigiri.

There’s a decent list of sake and whisky, as well as Japanese-inspired cocktails – by the glass or in litre jugs – and beer and wine offerings. Start with Zushi’s twist on a classic Mojito, with added lychees and a blast of orange blossom mist.

Fresh, sustainably sourced seafood dominates the menu. If you get a little dazed by all the different versions of gyoza and various tempura-coated creations, go for a safe bet with the house favourite, sashimi tacos. They serve the delightful mix of tuna, salmon, avocado and flying fish roe with a refreshing yuzu granita on sesame seeded wonton cracks.

If you’re a massive sushi fan, sign up to their newsletter. When your birthday comes around, you’ll be rewarded with a voucher to the restaurant so you can celebrate.
