Time Out says

[CANCELLED] Search for new love then hunt for ghosts at Q Station

This speed dating event isn’t as risqué as it sounds. You won’t be de-robing with a group of complete strangers for a shower: you’ll be getting to know them (while clothed) inside one of Q Station’s most haunted sites.

During the 1900s, incoming migrants were processed at Quarantine Station to avoid introducing diseases to the country. In the shower block, they were doused in a ‘cleansing’ mixture of water and carbolic acid upon entering Australia.

You won’t be facing any such protocols. Instead, you’ll start your evening with drinks and canapes on the heritage wharf from 6pm, then move to the shower block for the official speed dating in the (dry) stalls. This’ll be followed by dinner and then one of Q Station’s official ghost tours.

The whole spooky experience is sure to forge some bonds of true friendship, if not love. It’s aimed at men and women looking for partners of the opposite sex between the ages of 25-30, but Q Station hopes to hold more inclusive dating events in the future.
