Time Out says

Aesop’s Paddington store has long had a secret weapon, known mostly to locals

If you’ve been wondering what happened to the Aesop store that used to sit on Oxford Street, it’s moved just around the corner to a discreet location in a beautiful terrace property on Glenmore Road.

The Melbourne-born skincare brand has multiple stores across Sydney, and its Paddington boutique has always had a little something extra – a hidden treatment room where those in the know can book in for a facial using the core ingredients of their globally famous bathroom products.

The new boutique still has this secret weapon, and though it’s not avidly advertised there’s often a long waiting list for appointments.

Each facial is tailored to the person’s skin type and the 60-minute appointments are priced from $175-$220. It’s also the only store in the state to offer facials, and the upstairs treatment room is light and airy but still feels private, with access to a spacious bathroom so you can tidy yourself up again before rejoining the real world.

Downstairs, the new boutique has a poolside vibe. You’ll notice the pebble-dash walls that curve like the steps of an ocean pool and the contoured pool steps by the door. Designed in collaboration with Clare Cousins Architects, the store’s new look is inspired by Sydney’s intimate relationship with water and local swimming spots such as Bondi Icebergs or Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Pool.

You can still find all the Aesop products you’d usually expect – from the latest facial cleansing milks to their hair and body care products, pet range, travel kits and toothpaste. Each store’s consultants are trained to advise shoppers on the products best suited to their skin, but for the full live-like-a-queen experience you need to book in for a facial.
