For the next two weeks, bagel-maker and owner of Brooklyn Boy Bagels Michael Shafran is drawing together some of Sydney's favourite things: fresh-cut flowers and dense, New York-style bagels. And for a short time only, they're bright pink.
Why all the pomp and pink? The Marrickville pop-up is setting up in the lead up to Mother's Day, so you can grab a box of doughy beauties while you're picking up some florals for mum. Shafran has teamed up with London-based Australian installation artist and florist Jake Kuit for the event, who will be selling his ethically grown flowers all wrapped up in recycled and compostable packaging.
Head over for earthy, native arrangements of blue banksia, king protea and seasonal leaves; peeled-back, lush roses; and vibrant bouquets of orchids, poppies and more. The pop-up runs 7am to noon until Sunday May 9.
Check it out at 19 Carrington Road, Marrickville.
