We normally roll up to the Oxford Tavern ready for a rager of a night, but now this Petersham favourite is also hosting a monthly community market. On the first Sunday of the month, they’ll be inviting stallholders into the fern-filled pub to offer everything from craft and ceramics to fashion and jewellery, vinyl records, antique wares, crystals, houseplants and even some fresh produce.
And it’s really all about the makers, growers and collectors behind the stalls, as the pub isn’t charging a fee for them to sell their wares, so all the dollars go straight into their pockets. A few on the line-up include local designer Ginger Taylor, Leichhardt’s Industir Music, succulent growers Cavalier Gardens, and boutique Bloody Mary mix makers Patio Beverages.
This is a doggo and kid-friendly event, and there’ll be food specials pumping out of the tavern’s kitchen to keep you shopping all afternoon. The live music kicks off from 2pm, if you like to boogie while you browse.
