If you regularly pound the pavement on the same old city running route, change up your jogging cycle and test your legs at the Western Sydney Parklands Trail Run. The new fun run will take you on a loop of the park’s expansive grounds, with 35km, 19km, 11km and 4km courses all kicking off and finishing at Lizard Log. There’s also a 1.6km dash for mini sprinters.
The courses following bushland tracks and fire and farm trails, whoch should provide some engaging terrain. These pathways will lead you past some of the park's well-known features, like Moonrise Lookout, the Diary and Sugarloaf Ridge. But even if you smash the 35km challenge out of the park, you still won’t have seen all of Western Sydney Parklands – there are 5000 hectares of grassy lands within its borders and more than 60km of running trails. So you better be back for more.
