Time Out says

Head back to the '30s with this cabaret from Phil Scott and Catherine Alcorn

Cabaret darling Catherine Alcorn has been a busy lass of late, taking her brilliant show The Divine Miss Bette to the Sydney Opera House and touring it round Australia and the US.

But amazingly, she’s never performed at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre. That’s about to change when she teams up with Wharf Revue founder and equally talented musician Phil Scott for the new show 30 Something. Set in Sydney on New Year’s Eve 1939, it harks not only back to the glory days of bohemian Kings Cross, but asks how much Sydney has really changed, from the government’s war on arts and culture to its lockout laws and alcohol restrictions. If that sounds a bit heavy, don’t despair – you’re also guaranteed plenty of laughs, not to mention music from the likes of Lady Gaga, Phil Collins, Kylie and Prince.
