Created by Lisa Fa’alafi (of Pacifica dance-theatre collective Polytoxic) and DJ and sound designer Kim ‘Busty Beatz’ Bowers (formerly of ’90s all-girl rockers Spdfgh), Hot Brown Honey is a stereotype-crushing alt-cabaret concoction starring First Nation femmes from all variety of backgrounds. It returns to Sydney after a hit Opera House season and international tour.
The last time it was in Sydney, we gave the show five stars, declaring: "This is theatre with a purpose; devastating, empowering and uplifting. There was a sense that everyone in the room could have stayed inside the hive for hours, partying, rallying, planning a revolution – but the real struggle is out there."
