This 90-minute theatrical experience will take you on a journey through some of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays

Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, Macbeth, King Lear and As You Like It – you know these plays as some of Shakespeare’s most important works. But to enjoy them all in full, in one sitting, would make for a very lengthy theatre sesh. Well, what if we told you that you could experience the best parts of these famous plays – the tragedy, the comedy, the romance and the iconic soliloquies – in one unforgettable 90-minute production?

Enter Bell Shakespeare's In a Nutshell – an exploration of artistic director Peter Evans’ favourite Shakespearean plays. It will provide an insight into Evans’ personal thoughts on the Bard via his own commentary, and explore key themes of love, power, grief and forgiveness – ultimately showcasing a more intimate and inspiring look at humanity.

A talented ensemble cast will skillfully switch between characters from a variety of the aforementioned plays, performing memorable scenes and speeches that celebrate the imagination and linguistic magic of Shakespeare.

It’s set to be a fresh, exciting take on Shakespeare’s words, so whether you’re a novice or expert on the topic of the famed English playwright, there’s going to be something for everyone to enjoy during this on-stage highlight reel.

In a Nutshell begins its five-show run on August 4 at the newly redeveloped Pier 2/3, which is part of the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct. This is the first production Bell Shakespeare will present in its new theatre space, the Neilson Nutshell. For more information and to book your tickets, head to the website.
