Time Out says

Forget beige sandals: Kinky Boots has taken the world by storm, having won six Tony Awards (including Best Musical) and featuring a Tony-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, as well as a hilarious, feel-good book by Broadway royalty Harvey Fierstein.

Based on the 2005 British film Kinky Boots and inspired by true events, Kinky Boots the Musical explores the story of Charlie Price after he reluctantly inherits his father’s failing shoe factory. After forming an unlikely friendship with fabulous cabaret performer and drag queen, Lola, the duo join forces to produce a line of high-heeled boots.

“It’s not all glitz and high-kicks though,” wrote Time Out London’s reviewer ”...but the message of accepting ourselves and each other’s quirks is uplifting and relates to men, women and those who have yet to make up their minds.”

Following the hit productions of Les Misérables, We Will Rock You and Mamma Mia!, Packemin Productions will be showcasing the joyous new rendition of Kinky Boots at Riverside Theatres from September 9-24, with tickets available from $30.

Directed by Jessica Fallico (Wicked, Legally Blonde, Shrek: The Musical), the show stars Adam Rennie (Love Never Dies, The Rocky Horror Show), Nat Jobe (Around the World in 80 Days, The Lion King) and Laura Garrick (Les Miserables, Mamma Mia!).
