Head to this free painting class at a Darlinghurst bar that’s championing sustainability
The wine-and-painting class phenomenon has really taken off in recent years, and now groovy Darlo cocktail bar, This Must Be the Place, is following the trend, with a sustainable twist. Illustrator Campbell Walker, aka Struthless, will be host a painting class focusing on his area of expertise – satirising of Aussie culture – and sustainability issues.
It’s part of a three-day event at the venue that’s highlighting waste in the bar and restaurant industry by inviting ethically-minded and sustainable organisations to host dinners, cocktail events and parties at the premises. The workshop is a step-by-step tutored painting class that will run for an hour and is free to attend (although you’ll need to source booze from the bar). There are only limited brushes and easels at the two afternoon classes, so you’ll need to register to win a spot in the class (registering doesn't guarantee a ticket).
