Australian actors are killing it internationally in part because they are so well trained, and the Actors Centre Australia’s 20-week Foundation Program is one of the best starts you can have in this competitive but hugely exciting profession.

The ACA Foundation Program is part time, but serious stuff: 20 intense weeks studying four nights a week and all day Saturday. The course is designed in part to help aspirants successfully audition for full-time training. Perhaps you’ve missed out with Bachelor Degree auditions either at ACA or other performing arts institutions? Or maybe you’re a working actor who wants to give yourself an edge? The Foundation Program has each actor’s professional results and ultimate goals as the prime considerations.

The course covers the acting essentials: voice, body, improvisation and character. It also covers stage combat, singing, mask and scene work, and there’s an emphasis on those two titans of drama, Shakespeare and Chekhov, whose work represents two of the most important modes of the acting craft.

To be accepted you have to be over 18 and you have to have the chops – talent, drive and ambition. And the good news is that for the course beginning in July 2021 the price has been slashed to $7,990 down from $9,990. Find out more about the Actors Centre Australia here.
