Time Out says

One of Sydney's swingin' Italian joints has been given the green light to stay open late, and you're invited to celebrate

We’re still anxiously waiting for word on when the CBD lockout will be lifted, but there’s good news to tide us over in the meanwhile. Alberto’s Lounge, Swillhouse’s pocket-sized Italian eatery and bar (and Time Out Food Award nominee for Best New Restaurant in 2019), has just been approved for extended trading hours.

Licence extensions don’t come around all that often, so the gang is throwing a bit of a shindig to celebrate. The festivities are taking place on Sunday, November 24, and kicking off at 4pm. They’ll be pouring $5 glasses of wine, $10 Negronis and slinging free mortadella sambos all evening long, to the beat of house DJs laying down throwback Euro grooves. The full menu will also be available (all hail that tripe!), as well as t-shirts by artist Allie Webb (the brains behind the mural in the back alley and all of Swillhouse’s kickass graphic design), for purchase.

From the start, Alberto’s was intended to be a late-night hangout – and now, Thursday through Saturday, they’ll be able to go the distance till 1am. To keep the good times rolling, those house DJs will be spinning every Saturday and Sunday, as well. Cin cin to that.

The new trading hours at Alberto’s are: Mon-Wed 5pm-late; Thu 5pm-1am; Fri, Sat noon-1am; Sun noon-midnight.
