Celebrate the Lunar New Year with an Aussie twist and dine with furry tree-dwellers

Dumplings, koalas and crocs aren't a combination that usually springs to mind – and before you get concerned, no, native critters aren't inside the dumplings at this particular dining experience.

The dumpling masters at New Shanghai are partnering with Wild Life Sydney Zoo to bring you a twilight dumpling feast side by side with some native Australian wildlife. Choose between a seat at the leafy, eucalypt-filled rooftop overlooking Darling Harbour, or the Upper Croc Deck with a view of the zoo's 365 kilogram croc, Rocky

Dine on a variety of Lunar New Year-inspired goodies, like xiao long bao, spring rolls, chicken and celery dumplings, wontons, spinach and rice noodles and more. You'll also get bottomless drinks: pick from sparkling, red and white wine, beer, soft drinks and juice. It's an an all-you-can-eat sitting, but you'll only have half an hour to put that moniker to the test.

The experience includes after-hours access to the zoo, where you can get up close and personal with their “Aussie Big 5” including wombats, platypuses, kangaroo joeys, a massive saltwater crocodile, and of course, the koalas who’ll be watching over your feast. Tickets are $80 and include drinks, dumplings and entry to the zoo, which you'll be able to roam around after your session until it closes at 9pm.

Sessions run from
5.30pm on 11, 12 and 13 February and from 6pm on 18, 19 and 20 February. Book online
